Requirements
- AT&T Samsung Infuse 4G SGH-I997 running Android 2.2 Froyo. The method in this section has not been tested by us on Android 2.3 Gingerbread or higher, but feel free to try.
- A computer running Windows. If you’re on Windows XP, install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher.
- USB drivers for your phone. You can try looking for the drivers on the Samsung website. An alternative would be to install Samsung KIES, which will also usually include the drivers for your phone.
- Unmount your phone’s SD card.
- Disable antivirus, firewall, and other security programs both on your phone and computer. They can prevent the rooting process from succeeding.
- Make a back up of all the important data in your phone i.e. contacts, call logs, files, SMS, and Internet settings. This is not necessary, but in case something goes wrong it’s always good to have a back up.
- Make sure that your phone’s battery still has power of at least 50%. You don’t want to lose power in the middle of the rooting process.

- Extract the contents of the package into a folder in your home directory (on Linux) or in the root of your primary hard drive (on Windows).
- Run the rooting script. On Linux, run “./root.sh” (without the quotes). On Windows, double-click on “root.bat”. If you just want the unlock code, use “unlock.sh” or “unlock.bat” instead.
